internships in Nepal, Asia. You can intern abroad in Nepal for college
study abroad credits, or for high school credits.
International Volunteer Travel offers many opportunities for short-term, long-term and group international internships in Asia. Internships in Nepal are available in many areas including: Teaching; Orphanages; HIV/AIDS Awareness; Medical Work; and Christian Mission work.

Internship With Orphans in Nepal
Location: Sainbu, Lalitpur
Poverty and social turmoil has left many children as orphans in Nepal and other countries in Asia.
Nepal interns working with orphanages will assist in health education, teaching English, developing creative talents such as arts and crafts, painting and playing games, among other related activities. Other voluntary work includes helping with cooking, washing clothes for the kids, washing dishes, doing regular home chores and assisting with their homework.
Nepal HIV and AIDS Internship Program
Location: Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Makwanpur and Sindhupalchok districts.
Though the absolute number of HIV/AIDS cases is still low, there are
already "concentrated" epidemics within certain high-risk behavior
groups in Nepal.
To be part of the solution, International Volunteer Travel partners with a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Nepal, to reduce the spread of HIV through voluntary educational and medical interventions. Interns working abroad with the HIV/AIDS Awareness program in Nepal will assist with Community Based education on HIV and AIDS and HIV AND AIDS care intervention programs including visiting with families that may be affected and encouraging them.
Teaching Internship Work in Nepal
Location: Lalitpur, Jawalakhel,
The International Volunteer Travel partners with Non-Governmental
Organizations (NGOs) in Nepal to provide Internship opportunities with
educational projects, including teaching abroad and other internship
school programs.
International interns with Nepal’s teaching internship program will also assist local teachers in teaching Math, Science, Health Education and Social Education. Nepal interns abroad may also serve in Adult Education, Computer Science; and vocational training in carpentry, masonry, knitting, sewing and cooking.
Medical Internship in Nepal
Location: Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Makwanpur and Sindhupalchok.
International interns in Medical care internship abroad program will
assist and support local doctors, clinicians, and nurses in the normal
routine of health work i.e. taking vital signs, dressing wounds, taking
patients history, counseling patients, providing assurance and moral
support to patients’ family, and disbursing minor drugs. Interns may
choose to work with the HIV program, the community health center; the
Leprosy care program; the community public health education program or
a combination of these programs.
Professional Requirements: All health care interns (doctors, nurses, and program students, etc) need proof of training such as practicing license, health care student ID, etc.
Internship Mission Work in Nepal
Location: Khokana; Manbhawan at Lalitpur.
Christian Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Nepal have been
working to improve the quality of life of underprivileged adults and
children, including lepers, through a variety of programs. The
International Volunteer Travel partners with these Christian NGOs in
Nepal by providing Asian mission interns with an opportunity to work
selflessly for a good cause.
Some of the programs that international interns in missionary work will be involved with include: working with orphans; teaching English; community health education; community health care; women empowerment; community based trainings. You can also arrange to work with the local churches and pastors in their pastoral and outreach programs.

Nepal Internship Program Highlights
Age Limit: 18 and over; Under 18 years only as outlined on Gap Year Abroad in Nepal and Group Volunteer Abroad pages.
Length of Program: 2 to 14 weeks.
Starting Dates:1st and 3rd Thursday of every Month
Airport Arrival: By 3:00 PM the previous day.
Accommodation and Meals: Accommodation provided in special selected Host families. 3 local Nepalese meals are provided per day including free self-packed lunch.
Transportation: Projects mostly walking distance from home. Alternatively take commuter bus; fare will normally be no more than USD 1.00 per day for a return trip to and from project.
Schedule: Mondays to Fridays. 3 to 8 hours daily.
