Costa Rica Adventure HolidayCosta Rica is a nature lovers’ paradise as well as a center for religion. The International Volunteer Travel Adventure Holiday in Costa Rica is an amazing two-week Program incorporating almost eight days of volunteer or internship work and 4 days of touring spectacular places in Costa Rica.
During the first ten days, Costa Rica international Volunteers and overseas interns are provided with an opportunity to select from among a number of volunteer abroad projects or internship placements in Costa Rica. Volunteer overseas and internship abroad project placements include Orphanages, eco-tourism, nature conservation, Teaching and Home construction Work.
During the last four days of the Costa Rica Adventure program, International volunteers and overseas interns to this Latin American country get to visit waterfalls, biodiversity gardens, forest canopies, Tabacan hot springs Arenal volcano, relax, swim or snorkel on Tortuga Island, etc.
A sample schedule of our International Volunteer Adventure Holiday program in Costa Rica is provided below. To fit into local circumstances at the time of the tour, the Local country coordinator may change details of the trips.
Day 1: Arrival and pick up from the International Airport, in San Jose, Costa Rica and transfer to volunteer houses. Registration and rest.
Day 2: Orientation. Morning discussion covering Costa Rican culture, history, customs, politics, geography, and necessary health precautions, and various other topics, such as the diversity of Costa Rican life. Afternoon is free for exploring Costa Rica life and getting to know the community.
Day 3: Costa Rica Volunteers and Interns leave for project early in the morning after breakfast. Introductions held with project staff.
Day 4 - 8: International volunteers and interns continue with their work abroad. Weekends are free to tour Costa Rica.
Day 9 – 12: Costa Rica Adventure Holiday Tours
Day 9: Sarchin, Grecia, La Paz Waterfalls: Depart San Jose in the morning and proceed to Grecia, where you will visit the famous metal church and wonder at its rare and beautiful architectural design. Then proceed to famous Sarchí and tour the fascinating craftsman factories of Sarchí, where the famous oxcarts of Costa Rica are built. Splendidly decorated and in various sizes, these oxcarts are treasured worldwide for their unique beauty. You won’t be able to leave Costa Rica without one!
La Paz waterfall Gardens: In the afternoon, visit La Paz waterfall gardens, take a guided tour through the 50 feet high butterfly observatory, the hummingbird garden hosting 24 species of butterflies and then follow the waterfall trails delighting at the sight of each of the 5 amazing waterfall. Dinner and overnight at an economy hotel or with Host family in San Jose.
Day 10: Arenal Volcano and Tabacón Hot Springs
Day 11: Canopy Tour /Aerial Tram
Canopy Tour: Include a modified ski-lift that takes passengers floating through the tree tops, stopping periodically on platforms set in the crowns of massive tropical trees, more than 100 feet above the jungle floor. Volunteers abroad and international interns get a monkey’s-eye view of the rain forest top canopy. Here thick branches host a great diversity of smaller plants, tree frogs, vine snakes, and hundreds of bird species.
Aerial Tram: This
is a cable car that carries several passengers slowly through the
canopy of a tropical rainforest providing a great view of the beauty of
the forest, plants, trees and animals including birds and butterflies.
Day 12: Tortuga Island and Pacific Cruise
Day 13:Adventure Holiday program evaluation in the morning, afternoon is free.

Other Costa Rica Survival Spanish Language Program Highlights
Location: San Jose, Capital City of Costa Rica.
Starting Dates: 2nd and 4th Monday on the month
Airport Arrival: Day before starting date, preferably by 10:30AM
Age Limit: 18 and over if participating singly; 16 and above if part of a group.
Schedule: Mondays to Friday, 8 AM to 10PM for the tours; otherwise Costa Rica volunteering service is about 3 to 8 hours a day, 8AM to 5PM.
Accommodation, Meals and Laundry: Accommodation with carefully selected Costa Rica host families (hostel or apartment can also be arranged). Two local Costa Rica meals a day. Laundry is provided for free.
Transport: Costa Rica Spanish School will be within walking distance or 5 to 20 minutes of bus ride from your local home. Bus return trip will normally not exceed USD 0.40.
