Volunteer Or Intern Abroad in Africa

From the extensive plains of Kenya’s Maasai Mara game reserve - the seventh new wonder of the world - to the open air markets of Accra, Ghana, this International program gives you an opportunity to experience first hand what you may have seen, in part, on the discovery channel.

The International Volunteer Travel provides volunteers, interns, groups, and gap year students with great opportunities to experience the world through voluntary service in Africa.

We offer volunteer placements abroad in many projects and programs in several countries of Africa.

Our Africa Programs

Volunteers in Africa can combine your volunteer abroad placement with our Adventure, Wildlife, and Language and Culture program. Through the language and culture program you have an opportunity to leave Africa with a well-rounded view of the continent and a rich vocabulary of an African language.

In addition, you can sign up for our gap year, internships or group overseas placement in Africa.

Our Africa Project Areas

International Volunteer Travel offers a wide range of overseas volunteer projects to choose from in Africa. Internship placement projects include, teaching, working with children, HIV and AIDS awareness, medical and healthcare work, nature conservation, animal health and veterinary care, community development, tourism, eco-tourism, wildlife volunteer work, etc.

When Could I Start?

Africa Volunteer and internship programs starting dates vary but we have two starting dates each month.

Generally, volunteer and internship programs in Africa start on the first and third Wednesday of each month.
