Adventure Holiday in Ecuador
The two-week Ecuador Adventure Holiday program in Ecuador is ideal for International volunteers and overseas interns who would love to experience the mountains, rainforest, and wildlife of Ecuador without spending a lot of time and money.
The
International Volunteers and interns will have 9 days of volunteer or
internship work and 4 days of touring spectacular places in Ecuador
including Mindo, Otavalo, Cotopaxi and Ba?os. Overseas volunteer and
internship project placements include Teaching, Children Handicraft Workshop, Medical Work, Working with Children and Community Outreach.
Overseas volunteers and interns abroad can combine the Adventure Ecuador Program with the Standard Volunteer Abroad Program, the Ecuador Basic Spanish Program or the Standard Internship Program. Overseas volunteers and international interns who wish to create such a combination are encouraged to contact us.
A sample schedule of our International Volunteer Travel Adventure Program in Ecuador is provided below:
Day 1: Arrival
and pick up from the Quito Mariscal
Sucre Airport (Airport Code UIO) in Quito
Ecuador. Transfer to host family home, and
rest. Day 9-12: Ecuador Adventure Tours Morning: International volunteers and interns will
visit the amazing and breathtaking volcano crater
at Quicocha which houses a crater lake surrounded
by Andean forest; interact with the Otavala Indians
famous for their arts and wool production then
drive up to Peguche and visit and Indian music
workshop with lunch at Peguche.
Day 13: Ecuador Adventure

Note: This schedule is subject to change by the country coordinator. During the tours, accommodation will be at local economy hotels. Participants will pay for any additional activities they choose to participate in, during the adventure tours.
Ecuador Adventure Program Highlights
Age Limit:
18 and over; Under 18 years only as outlined on Gap Year Abroad in Ecuador and Group Volunteer Abroad pages.
Starting Dates:
2nd and 4th Wednesday of every Month
Airport Arrival:
By 3.00 PM the day before starting date.
Duration:
2 weeks and above.
Accommodation and Meals:
Ecuadorian host families; 3 Ecuadorian meals a day. Standard hotels during adventure trips.
Transport:
Most projects within walking distance of home; otherwise cost will not exceed USD 0.5 per day buy local public buses or trolley. During adventure trips transport will be provided.
Schedule of work:
Mondays to Fridays; 4 to 8 hours per day.

Day 9: Mindo and Otavalo
The
highest active volcano in the world situated
at the centre of the Cotopaxi National Park makes
the national park one of the most visited national
parks in Ecuador. Its main attractions are the
permanent snowcaps at the top of the volcanoes
surrounded by a plethora of wildlife such as
condors, deer, hummingbirds, gazelles and foxes.
The Cotopaxi National Park offers overseas volunteers
and interns beautiful scenery and lots of activities
such as mountaineering, hiking, and bird watching.
Ba?os, nestled between the river Pastazo
and the Tungurahua volcano is at the centre of
Ecuador. At Ba?os volunteers abroad and
interns overseas are free to tour the town on
their own or participate in
one three-hour sporting activity of their choice
from among horseback riding, white water rafting,
mountain biking, hiking, scooter riding or they
can simply tour the town on their own. In the
afternoon Ecuador volunteers and interns will
drive back to Quito.
