The Ghana Adventure Holiday Program
Ghana
is a nature lovers? paradise. The International Volunteer Travel Mini
Adventure in Ghana is an amazing two-week Program incorporating almost
eight days of volunteer or internship work and 4 days of touring
spectacular places in Ghana.
During the first ten days, Ghana international Volunteers and overseas interns are provided with an opportunity to select from among a number of volunteer abroad projects or internship placements in Ghana. Project placements include Orphanages, Teaching, Village Life, Agriculture and Medical Work.
The International Volunteer Travel Ghana Adventure Holiday Programs can be taken alone or in combination with the Ghana Language and Cultural Experience, the Volunteer Abroad in Ghana, or Internships Abroad in Ghana.
A sample schedule of our International Volunteer Travel Ghana Adventure Holiday program is provided below:

Day 1: Arrival and pickup from the Kotoka International Airport, in Accra, Ghana (airport Code ACC). Transfer to host family home, and rest. Day 2: In the morning after registration: Lecture on Ghanaian society and culture, followed by a familiarization tour of central Accra. In the afternoon, you will visit the beach side for a time of relaxation and rest. In the evening if it is possible we will arrange for a courtesy call on the mayor of Accra. Day 3: Morning: Lecture introduction to volunteer projects you expect to work with; Rules and regulation; dos and
Day 11: Kakum National Park: Comprised of undisturbed virgin rainforest, Lake
surrounded by dozens of virgin fishing and farming villages. Enjoy a
boat ride on the lake that is ideal for diving, swimming, line and hook
fishing and relaxation. Day 13: End of Ghana Adventure Holiday Program. Evaluation, Free. Day 14: Program ends 11 Am. Departure for those staying for 2 weeks. Those staying longer proceed to their volunteer abroad project placement.

Day 9: Visit Kumasi, center of old African Ashanti Empire. Overseas
volunteers can learn more about Ghana?s rich cultural history including
historical Kingdoms and civilizations that existed way before the
Europeans came to Africa; witness the famous Kente weaving, Adinkra
textile printing and Ahwiaa wood carving. Tour the Manhyia palace
museum and learn about the legendary Ashanti king Osei Tutu.
Day 10: Elmina Castle
- founded by the Portuguese in 1482 to protect the gold-rich lands; and
if time allows, volunteer abroad will visit the Cape Coast Castle also
build by the Portuguese to protect their interest in the land of Gold.
