Guatemala Projects
International
Volunteer Travel offers
a range of volunteer abroad opportunities and overseas internship
placements to choose from in Guatemala. The Guatemala
program gives you an opportunity to work in any of the following
areas, namely: Teaching; Health Care, Children?s orphanage,
Reforestation and Nature, Women?s Prison; and with
Women Artisan Groups.
Combination of Programs
The Volunteer Abroad in Guatemala, Internships Abroad in Guatemala, are offered independently as well as in combination with the Survival Spanish Program, Spanish Study Abroad and the Guatemala Adventure Holidays programs.
Additionally, we offer Gap Year Abroad in Guatemala and can arrange a Group Volunteer Abroad placement for groups including students and church missions at a discounted cost.Spanish Language Requirements
Two weeks of Guatemala Spanish study is required for all applicants. One week is required for those fluent in Spanish. You can take our Survival Spanish or Spanish Study Abroad programs to meet requirements.

Free Program: Volunteer placement is free for all those who
sign up for our Spanish
Study Abroad Program.
Location:
Xela; Buena Vista Los Corales, Cabricon, Guatemala,
Length of Program:
1 to 24 weeks.
Starting Dates:
2nd and 4th Wednesday of every Month. Plan
on Arriving the day before.
Airport Arrival Time: Preferably by 11:00 AM
Accommodation and Meals:
Except during the Adventure Program,
accommodation provided in Host families. 3 local Guatemalan
home meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) are provided per day.
Transportation:
Most projects within 5 to 20 minutes walking
distance from home. Projects further off can be reached by walking
or by local bus at your expense and cost up to about USD
2.00 for a daily return trip to and from project. See specific
project for details.
Schedule:
Mondays to Fridays. 4 to 5 hours daily.
