The Peru
Adventure Holiday Program is ideal for International
volunteers and overseas interns who would love to experience
the mountains, jungles, and wildlife of Peru without spending
a lot of time and money.
The International Volunteer Travel Peru Adventure Holiday is an amazing two-week Program incorporating almost eight days of volunteer or internship work and 4 days of touring spectacular places in Peru including the beautiful districts of Huanuco and Tingo Maria in the Central Region of Peru.
Combining Adventure with Volunteer/Internships
Beyond the two weeks of the Peru Adventure Holiday program, international volunteers and interns can extend their placement by volunteering or doing an extended internship in Peru . They can also combine the Peru Adventure Holiday with the Survival Spanish Program for an extra week of stay in Peru.
A sample schedule of our International Volunteer Travel Adventure Holiday Program in Peru is provided below:
Day 1:
Arrival and pick up from
the Jorge Chavez International Airport,
in Lima, Peru. Transfer to host
family home, and rest.
Day 2: Orientation. This
entails lecture covering topics
like Peru?s culture,
history, customs, politics,
geography, and necessary health
precautions, and various other
topics, such as the diversity
of Peruvian life. Afternoon
is free for exploring Peruvian
life and getting to know the
community.
Day 3: Peru volunteers and Interns leave
for project early in the morning after breakfast.
Introductions to project staff.
Day 4-8: International volunteers and overseas
interns continue with their work abroad.
Weekends are free to explore Lima on your
own or hang out with host family.
Day
9-12: Peru
Adventure Holiday Tours
Day 9: City of Huanuco: After
breakfast, international volunteers and interns
abroad will visit Plaza de Armas
or Main Square, Cathedral, Museum of
Natural Sciences and Kotosh ? an
archaeological site over 4000 with ancient
antiquities such as the Temple of the
Crossed Hands, first sculpture of America
molded underneath one of the niches that
surround the room
Day 10: Tingo
Maria: International volunteers and interns will
visit Tingo Maria. The area is surrounded
by a chain of mountains known as La
Bella Durmiente or Sleeping Beauty,
because it comes into view as the profile
of a beautiful young woman laying on
her back. Overseas volunteers and interns
will also visit las Cueva de las Lechuzas
(the cave of the oilbirds), La Cueva
de las Pavas and Capricho. At these tourist
attractions of Tingo Maria, overseas volunteers and interns will
experience bird watching from a 200m
walk in the cave of the oilbirds, and
swim in any of the numerous pools at
the La Cueva da las Pavas
.Day 11: El
Boquer?n
del Padre Abad. International volunteers will
visit El Boquer?n del Padre Abad
to see the narrow river canyon, covered
with vegetation and surrounded by beautiful
waterfalls. After Dinner overseas volunteers and interns will
return to Huanuco city.
Day 12: Huanuco
Highlands. After breakfast international volunteers and interns abroad
will take a one-hour drive to Huanuco
Highlands. In this mountainous environment,
international volunteers and interns
will see and experience the traditional
Andean culture and the rural way of life
of the inhabitants in this region. In
the afternoon, we will drive back to
Lima, Peru, viewing the great Andes of
Peru along the way.
Day 13: Peru
Adventure Holiday program evaluation
in the morning, afternoon is free.
Day 14: Program
Ends at 10 AM. Farewell to
host family country staff.
Spanish Language Requirements
No language skills are required. We offer free Spanish lessons for one week. We also offer a one-week Survival Spanish Program with local afternoon tours to major attractions in the city of Lima.

Free lessons, 2
hours per day, for one week.
Transportation:
Routine transport
to work is not provided. Local transport costs
up to about USD 2.00 for a daily return trip to
and from project.
Schedule:
Mondays to Saturday. About 3-6 hours per day during the volunteer
phase and 6 to 8 hours during the adventure
holiday tours.
