Registration Fee
A non-refundable registration fee of USD 349 must accompany your application. We guarantee you placement in your first two choices and your first two countries and will refund your registration fee if are unable to provide you placement as indicated.
Combining Tanzania Programs
In addition to taking a program separately, you can also combine programs. For example, you can combine volunteer abroad, internship overseas, or with the Language and Culture Program, the Tanzania Adventure Holiday, or the Study Swahili in Tanzania. To do so, just contact us for a price quote or select the programs in your application and we will give you a quote.
The cost of our various programs, on top of the registration fee, is provided below.

Swahili Study Abroad Program: Fees will be available
online by December 2007
Combining with Adventure Programs: Adventure programs are offered alone or in combination with other programs. Adventure programs are designed to be combined with volunteer placement. Those interested in combining adventure with internships instead of volunteering will add USD 100.00 to the fees.
What Fees and Costs Cover
Logistics: airport pickup, communication, program
information, finding and organizing projects, Tanzania office expense
(utilities, salaries, maintenance, office rent), coordination, and
donation to projects, first commute from offices to project, project
supervision.
Food, Accommodation: Accommodation with host family,
3 meals per day depending on project and including vegetarian meals
with prior arrangement.
Swahili Study Abroad Program: 3 hours of classes per
day 5 days a week; teachers, free snacks at school, 2 local meals per
day, breakfast and dinner; host family or hostel accommodation; airport
pickup and drop off.
Language and Culture Program: 2 hours of classes for
3 days; teachers, 2 local meals per day (breakfast and dinner) and
accommodation as above; public transport and gate fees for indicated
local tours.
Tanzania Adventure Tours: Logistics
as outlined above including transport, 3 meals per day during jungle
safaris. 2 local meals per day (breakfast and dinner) during trips
to and within Zanzibar, Dares Salaam, Moshi and Arusha; accommodation
in shared standard hotels and campsites, gate fees to covered events
and sites except as specified on the details page - here.
Insurance: Comprehensive Travel and Health Insurance.
Costs Not Covered
Travel: International travel; drop off at the airport;
airport departure fee (USD 25); private in-country travel, visa fees;
special diets (other than conventional vegetarian); transport to and
from work or school daily (most projects are within walking distance
of home otherwise public commuter bus fare will normally not exceed
USD 0.50 per day).
Miscellaneous Expenses: personal expenses such as toiletries,
leisure, gifts, bottled water, soft drinks and alcohol, and costs associated
with private or optional travel/events.
