Tanzania HIV and AIDS Voluntary Service

Due to high levels of poverty, illiteracy and poorly funded public interventions, Tanzania, has had a larger than proportionate share of the HIV pandemic with resulting deaths of adults and a growing population of dependants and children headed households and orphans.

To be part of the solution, International Volunteer Travel partners with hospitals and medical centers in Tanzania, to reduce the spread of HIV through voluntary educational and medical interventions. Volunteers working abroad with the HIV/AIDS Awareness program in Tanzania will assist with Community Based education on HIV and AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Other duties will entail creating public health brochures and publications, and monitoring and evaluation of existing intervention programs. This project will entail both field and office work.

Combination of Programs

In addition to volunteering with HIV and AIDS awareness in Tanzania, the International Volunteer Travel also offers opportunities for Internships Abroad in Tanzania, the Language and Cultural Experience, the Tanzania Swahili Study Abroad and Tanzania Adventure Tours and Holidays program.
