TestimonialsTanzania Nature and Environment Volunteer
Population growth, environmental degradation and climatic change are causing scarcity of water resources in many countries of Africa and Tanzania is no exception. International volunteers with this project will help alleviate problems caused by deforestation by participating in tree planting activities plus talking to the local communities to raise awareness about deforestation and resulting problems.
African
volunteers with this program may also work with Kilimanjaro water
management project to address issues of water scarcity in the Mount
Kilimanjaro area. Some of the issues that need addressing include
defining the water scarcity problem; designing a program of educating
the public including developing relevant materials; linking the water
scarcity problem to environmental degradation in a way that locals
would understand so as to bridge the knowledge gap between managers and
users of resources, etc.
These projects will entail both field and office work.
Combination of Programs
