TestimonialsVolunteer with Children in Tanzania
The
greatest cause of prevalence for uncared children on the streets in
East Africa is poverty. As the HIV/AIDS pandemic takes its toll many
kids have been left without parents to take care of them. Such
neglected kids have often been taken by other families or by charitable
persons and groups and put up in orphanages. Orphanage operators are
often in great need of labor support to supplement their efforts.
Volunteers at the orphanages will normally teach English in the schools that the kids attend. After school volunteers with children projects in Tanzania will assist in preparing meals for the kids, sometimes bathing the children, and doing the dishes. International volunteers will also assist the children with homework and organize games and sports and fundraising activities such as proposal writing, etc.
Combination of Programs
In addition to Volunteer with children in Tanzania, the International Volunteer Travel also offers opportunities for Internships Abroad in Tanzania, the Language and Cultural Experience, the Tanzania Swahili Study Abroad and Tanzania Adventure Tours and Holidays program.
