TestimonialsNature Protection Volunteering in Uruguay
Do you desire to save nature? You can do so by signing up for nature protection
volunteering abroad in the most beautiful South American country of Uruguay.
Quebrada de los Cuervos is part of the National System of Protected Areas. The area has a microclimate similar to subtropical conditions. There are many unusual plants and animals that are usually only found in subtropical climates. This protected land has a range of diverse species that can only be found in this part of Uruguay.
Crows are the guardians of the area. There are several species of crows, such as red-head crows (Catharthes aura), black-head crows (Coragyps atratus) and yellow-head crows (Cartharthes burrovianus). Some of these species are near extinction.
As an international volunteer some of your placements will be with organizations that are working towards protecting the environment by preserving the population of crows and butterflies in Uruguay.
Voluntary service with this project will entail carrying out census of birds and butterflies to: determine the population, determine wildlife diversity, and determine other aspects of the wildlife species in collaboration with local researchers and scientists.
