But Uruguay has significant social needs and international volunteers are a great blessing to the local people as they provide much needed help. The International Volunteer Travel offers short-term, long-term and internship abroad and overseas volunteer placements for individuals and groups. You can volunteer with a Children?s center, natural protected area, and a housing development project.

Combining Uruguay Programs

In addition to voluntary work abroad in Uruguay, we offer opportunities for internships abroad, Survival Spanish learning, and Adventure Holidays programs in Uruguay, South America.

Spanish Language Requirements

Basic Spanish is strongly recommended but not required. International volunteers and interns abroad without working knowledge of Spanish are encouraged to sign up for our one week Survival Spanish program to acquire basic Spanish skills.
